Together with Twenty Essex and Guantao Law firm, Seddons hosted a London International Disputes Week 2021 member-hosted event entitled “China-related commercial disputes – a comparison of the arbitral process in London and China” on Friday 14 May 2021.
The session explored the differences between the arbitral process in London and China. The discussion included a short introductory session providing an overview of the process in each jurisdiction and outlining some key differences at a high level, followed by a more in-depth review of the Chinese system and CIETAC from a Chinese law expert. Twenty Essex focused on the rules governing London seated arbitrations and comparing those with the position in China.
