Soma Barzinji, Senior Associate and Head of Corporate & Private Immigration, has authored an article for People Management in which she explores the business impact of proposed settlement reforms by the Home Office.
In her article, Soma details how the reforms would extend the qualifying period for indefinite leave to remain from five to ten years, affecting migrant staff as well as employers who may find it harder to retain sponsored workers and attract international employees.
As the Home Office progresses these reforms, it must be transparent with all parties. “Providing certainty for those already progressing towards settlement will be an important part of implementing any new system.”
