Frances Murray, Head of Financial Crime, was recently featured in the Dow Jones Risk Journal commenting on the Financial Conduct Authority’s latest review of sanctions systems and controls across UK financial services firms.
Commenting on the findings, Frances said: “The key question isn’t how many sanctions are imposed. It is whether authorities can still see and track the activity they are targeting. If the answer is no, then sanctions may be creating the appearance of control while making the underlying problem harder to detect.”
