Neil Russell, Partner and Head of Family, spoke with Clive Bull, radio host at LBC, on the Government’s proposed law reform for cohabiting couples.
In his interview, Neil highlighted the need for legal recognition protecting the increasing number of cohabiting couples in the UK, currently at 3.5 million people, and how the new cohabitation reforms would support those in modern living arrangements.
Neil also discusses the impact of the lack of legal cover for cohabiting couples, saying, “the law should have a level of protection for people who want to cohabit, because so many people are caught out at the end of a breakdown of a relationship with no financial support and nowhere to live.”
