Amee Popat

Of Counsel

Background & Biography

Amee specialises in commercial property transactions for a wide range of clients, with a particular focus on corporate occupiers acquiring or leasing premises including headquarters buildings.

She has acted on multiple property matters for Universal Music, the world’s leading music company, including the acquisition of their headquarters building in King’s Cross, which was one of the largest pre-lets in the UK office market.

Amee has also been entrusted with her team with other high-profile commercial property deals, including Bravado’s flagship Rolling Stones store in Carnaby Street and Abbey Road Institute’s lease at Angel Recording Studios.

She was also part of the team involved in the £200 million CareTech transaction.

Amee takes a relationship-driven approach to transactions, believing that collaboration delivers the strongest outcomes.  “We work with our counterparts, not against them, to achieve our clients’ objectives.  We aim for technical excellence in every negotiation but we always remain pragmatic – securing the best commercial deal for our client is always the priority.”

Amee read Law at the University of Leicester (LLB Hons, 2003) and joined GSC as a trainee in 2004.  She qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and became a partner in 2013.
