Ross Waldram

Senior Associate

Background & Biography

Ross is a trusted adviser to longstanding clients, offering commercially sensible IP advice beyond just legal assessments. “It’s about guiding clients—whether established businesses like PPL PRS Limited or startups—toward practical solutions,” he explains.

A key focus for Ross is trade mark law, particularly for startups. “Legal support must balance commercial and legal considerations. While you may have grounds to object to a trade mark, sometimes a conversation is more effective than litigation. Clients return to us because we find the simpler, more commercially viable path.”

“My job isn’t about legal tricks—it’s about helping businesses function better and resolving disputes amicably where possible.”

Ross joined the firm as a trainee in 2007 and qualified in 2009. While increasingly focused on IP, he also supports the Employment and Corporate teams with IP-related matters.

A passionate rugby fan, Ross is a Saracens season ticket holder. “I used to play and run more, but now I enjoy watching,” he admits, though he’s completed “the odd marathon” over the years.
