Seddons GSC is marking the first anniversary of its merger between West End law firm Seddons and City firm GSC Solicitors.
Completed in April 2025, the merger brought together two complimentary firms to expand capabilities, enhance client experience, and build a culture of progression and excellence.
One year on, Seddons GSC has established itself as a dynamic full-service practice, supporting both long-standing and new clients across a range of matters. The merger has strengthened the firm’s capabilities across real estate, dispute resolution, intellectual property, company commercial, private client and family matters, both in the UK and internationally – reinforcing the firm’s market position and appeal to future talent.
Since the merger completed, Seddons GSC has welcomed 25 people to the firm and across key practice areas, strengthening its existing capabilities and supporting expansion into new sectors. In January, the firm launched its Financial Crime practice with the hire of partner Frances Murray who leads the team. The firm also welcomed Partner Ben Marks and Consultant David Seal to its Residential and Commercial Real Estate teams, respectively, alongside further hires across family, private client, clinical negligence, and IP litigation.
Alongside its people strategy, Seddons GSC has made significant investment in its technology infrastructure. The firm has transitioned to a modern, cloud-based operating model, replacing legacy systems with fully integrated platforms including Elite 3E, Intapp and iManage. This investment reflects the firm’s long-term commitment to innovation, with further developments planned, including a phased integration of AI and automation capabilities.
Simon Ross, Managing Partner at Seddons GSC, commented: “Bringing the two firms together was a natural step, built on a shared focus of delivering the best outcome for our clients. Over the past year, it’s been incredible to watch the growth with existing and new clients alongside the steadfast commitment to our people, technology, and long-term future. I look forward to seeing what this year and the many to come have in store.”
Saleem Sheikh, Senior Partner at the firm, said: “From day one, the ambition has been to create a firm that operates as one business, not a collection of teams. That means real collaboration, meaningful investment in infrastructure, and giving talented lawyers a platform to build long term careers. The first year has validated that, and our focus is now on scaling it strategically.”
